Civitas is excited to welcome Zach McLean, for his first season with the front ensemble.


Zach McLean is a graduate of North Greenville University where he studied under Dr. Christoper Davis and earned a B.A. in Music performance. Currently, Zach is the Graduate Assistant for music theory at Winthrop University, where he studies under Dr. Adam Snow and is pursuing an M.M. in Music Performance. As an educator, Zach has worked with multiple Front Ensembles in the upstate of South Carolina including Blue Ridge, Greer, Pendleton, and most recently Dorman High School. As a performer, Zach has performed with Palmetto Percussion ('14), Catalyst Percussion ('11,'12), the Spartanburg Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Hendersonville Symphony Orchestra. He has also performed in many master classes and clinics with some of the best names in field including Evelyn Glennie, Eric Ewazen, Dr. Scott Herring, Lalo Davila, and Dr. John W. Parks IV. Zach is excited to join the instructional staff for Civitas Independent.
